    help- maximus formula issues

    hi,

I need some help identifying an issue with my mobo. its a maximus formula se with a q6600 and kingston 1150mhz ram 2gb plus xfx9800gx2 on xp32

problems started a couple of months ago after a bsod...first the overclock wouldn't hold and its started beeping at me....one long followed by three short beeps.....it goes onto boot, no further beeps and lcd poster displays the time, with all the fans starting up etc etc, but no display at all. after clearing the cmos twice or so, or turning the system on and off a couple of times it then boots and posts.

anyone got an ideas what the issue maybe? tried changing the ram as i believe one long beep and two short is ram failure, i don't think the cards on it's way out, well i hope not, but the system has been locking up in crysis warhead and cod4....generally screen freezing and not being able to tab out to desktop.

currently the whole system is at the default speeds and stable accept for this problem...please help

    Re: help- maximus formula issues

Hi, CPU is on water so 15 to 25@2.4ghz, when clocked at 3.9ghz late 28 to 45 under load. Gpu normally sits around 60 to 80 underload.

    Thanks!a

    Re: help- maximus formula issues

just got the same mobo, but using cosair ram, the corsair forums advise to updating bios and increasing ur memory voltage to 2.0-2.1v when facing ram issues on this board, I'm facing probs with the mobo as well, and havent tried this fix as now i my display is not working, check the kingston forums if the have any similar advice of memory issues.

no not windows, did that before and nearly pooed bricks! Never again. Used a flash drive and EZ flash, it worked ok, was on reboot when i got the cmos error, anyway i got a whole thread about it. Just waiting for an spare pcie card to do some trouble shooting. I think i have have graphic card probs sort out first, then bios probs, then maybe Ram issue , lol, swear i should of just got the bloody thing pre-built!

What happened to ur beeps, did the ram voltage help?

Yeah they run fine upto 70 degrees, anything higher and it's time for a serious cooling option upgrade!! lol

May swap the two 120.1 rads for a couple of 120.2, just need a bigger case then!

    Good luck
