Question xp wont burn- vista will....

Hi people got a weird problem i haven't come across before. If i burn with xp i am now getting "burn failed" on all my writes, this is with different programs and different disks trying to get a process of elimination.
I switch over to vista (dual boot system) and all the burning is fine.
How can i check if something has been deleted from my xp stopping me from burning, because i have 100% burn success rate with vista, i am confused why the xp keeps failing?
Using a pioneer burner with updated and reinstalled firmware and reinstalled nero and other burning programs tried!

Re: xp wont burn- vista will....

so there must be a software problem
either your drivers are not properly installed or your burning software not properly working

try reinstalling latest chipset drivers from motherboard manufacturer and use the infrarecorder to burn your dvds. it's free

hey yeah that infrarecorder program did actually work, thanks. I'm glad its not a missing registry error as i thought it was.
Strange though i did use another burning program cant remember what and that didnt work neither as well as my regular nero burn.

I had something similar, using DeepBurner (free cd/dvd burning software), changing software did the trick, every DVD was a coaster for me with a NEC drive under XP.
