HD LCD as monitor - audio out of sync

Hi all. I've just bought myself a DVI-to-HDMI cable so that i can use my HD ready TV to watch films on (also bought an internal Blu-ray player for the PC to do this with). I connected the TV up with my pc today just to test it out and was messing about with the dual monitor setup. I then played a 720p quicktime file (Harry Potter HBP trailer if you must know ) to see what it looked like in HD on the TV screen.

It looks awesome but the audio is slightly out of sync with the video.

The audio comes from the 5.1 PC speakers. When i play the file while viewing it on the left screen (the pc monitor, the TV is on the right) the audio is in sync. Only when the video shows on the TV is the audio out of sync.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Which is behind, TV or Audio.

You could try running the windows Room controll thing with a microphone * as this gives a delay time for the audio, and adjusts it automatically.
*right click the speacker thing on the taskbar, playback devices, double click speackers, enhancements, Room controll. VISTA not XP

If the TV is behind you could try turning off any enhancements in the TV, which could be slowing it down. Or get a really long extension cable for the speackers, so the signal takes time to travel.

The TV is behind the audio.

Thanks, it looks like the enhancement thing may have worked. Not 100% sure, I'll keep checkin.

Update: I think it's still ok (hard to tell when you're looking directly at the lips; you start seeing things) so i've gone and bought 3 Blu-Ray films and will report back when ive watched some. Hopefully it's fixed.

Re: HD LCD as monitor - audio out of sync

OK, final update. The problems seemed only to be with quicktime videos and when i had audio enhancements on. Everything else, including the bluray's play fine!
