    Exclamation Samsung NC10

I recently bought a Samsung NC10 from the DABS website. I also purchased a 2gb upgrade the Crucial DDR2 PC2 5300 667 200 pin non ecc module. Sadlym after installing the module the machine turns on and then does nothing which leads me to believe this is the wrong type of RAM...

Could someone please confirm this for me please and possibly point me in the right direction of the correct RAM! Thank you!

    The Crucial website
    http://www.crucial.com/uk/
shows what RAM is able to be installed. Although i thought that Dabs had a similar thing.

Remember that there is a huge difference between 2 x 1 GB and 2GB.
It's also possible that the RAM you bought is defective

Edit: The crucial website suggests that what you got should be ok:
"2GB DDR2 PC2-6400" is able to be installed into the single slot.

    Maybe it's a duff stick?

    Re: Samsung NC10

I'd be surprised if it needs to be 800Mhz, although that is perhaps the most likely scenario to fit the facts.

    Re: Samsung NC10

Yeah I have the 5300 667MHz Kingston ram in mine and I have tested the 6400 800MHz ram in the Samsung NC10 that I have and it made absolutely no difference what so ever.
