Question Common client user session failure query

I've recently encountered a prob where my IE will not connect to my default start page (page notdisplayed etc) and a Microsoft message appears that the 'common client user session has encountered a prob ......etc'. After rebooting, I can't access the Internet - same message appears. The only way I can return to an active Internet activity on my PC is when I initiate a System Restore action. However, when I end my IE activities and 'switch off' or Hibernate, I encounter the same prob on return and so back to System Restore etc to get back to the IE. I've tried a full system scan & a winsoxfix action with no positive remedy. I've read some info that it can be relative to a Norton Security/Firewall fault or to other type security faults possibly caused by malware action. Has anyone experienced this type of failure and how did you resolve the issue? Any useful advice appreciated as this is really irritating.

Re: Common client user session failure query

Note for useful info I disabled my Norton Firewall, reactivated windows firewall and, hey presto, the IE6 operating is functioning effectively again. Problem solved. Prob appears to be related to a corrupted Norton Firewall activity.

    IE6 !!!111One
Please to be installing a browser from the current century.
Personally I use Firefox at home with Adblock and Noscript.

+1 to the above, get a different browser mate, once you use anything other than IE you will realise why
