    Strange HDD problem w/ IP35 Pro :S

Hi just recently put together a system as following

    Q6600
    IP35 Pro
    HD4890
    4gb crucial ballistix pc8500

Now, i have two WD 160GB RE2 drives which i created a RAID0 array and just installed a fresh copy of XP. After installation I get to the windows xp loading screen and PC restarts immediately...

Strangely when I remove this RAID from system, switch back to IDE in BIOS and put in an old 60gb IDE drive with an old XP install on it... it boots up perfectly :S

Can anyone think what this might be?

yes, you need to install the Intel RAID drivers if using the Intel ICH9R SATA ports (I'm assuming that you aren't using the eSATA ports on the JMicron controller) either using F6 when prompted at the start of the install or slipstreamed into the media.

when you install xp, before its starts copying files over it asks you if you want to install any raid drivers, and i think you have to press f6(it tells you anyway) the message is at the bottom of the screen

Ok problem solved, yes correct Vti however I dont have a floppy drive so I had to slipstream the Intel RAID drivers onto a copy of XP which was a total pain but got there in the end.
