Flash animation question

I am creating a simple flash animation which will be like this , for example :

1. Picture of a cow fades into screen
2. After a second, a textbox saying HEXUS appears.
3. After another second, a textbox saying DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY NEWS & REVIEWS appears.
4. After another second, everything goes away and a picture of a tiger fades into screen.
5. After a second, a textbox saying HEXUS2 appears.
6. After another second, a textbox saying DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY NEWS & REVIEWS 2 appears.

Now, I have done Flash animation ages ago and can't quite remember the order of things.
I have currently created a keyframe for 1 and then inserted pic of cow, then created keyframe after a second and inserted textbox and then created another keyframe after a second and inserted textbox.

I can't remember at which stage you do Motion tween , convert to symbol and have the fading in/out effect without using actionscript.

Help would be greatly appreciated.
