    pin 1

short story :- where is pin 1 on my atx power plug on the main bord

long story:- trying to get my abit ib9 up and runnign again for my sister, went and got a cheap case from local computer shop, got the case home and found out the psu that came with the case has a 20 pin plug not a 24 pin for the mainboard, the manual says it's o.k to run with a 20 pin plug but to use more then a 300w, psu in the case is a 400w, so where is pin 1 on the mainbord atx plug ?

    Re: pin 1

i thought they usually only go in one way, not sure bout them older boards tho but i am pretty sure they still be only one way

if you looked at the shape of rounded squares the ends are usually have 2 straight edges and a rounded part. its hard to explain... sorry

    Re: pin 1

Looking at a pic on Google of an IB9, the connector is correcly "keyed" so would only fit one way.
It would appear you need to connect it with the small clip inwards on the board.
