Dell Inspiron 9400 Battery Failure

Hi, I have had my Inspiron 9400 for over 3 years now, it has been running great (in fact still is). However the other day teh battery light started flashin orange. Went to check the manual, apparently it means the battery is foobarred.

Anyway, so I need a new one. Do I go for the official Dell one, from Dell's website at £115 or so, a Dell one off of flebay or retailer for around £80, or a non-Dell one for around £40.

I'm a bit nervous about getting a non Dell one, but at a fraction of the price is it worth it?

Well , an 'official' dell one would be best but a Dell one of e-bay would probabaly be ok assuming you do a bit of research on who you are buying it from as there can be a lot of rubbish out there as far as batteries are concerned. Personally I would not go for the 'non dell' option unless you can find some good reports on 'said' battery. Sometimes it's a case of 'buy cheap, buy dear'.

There's a few on amazon as well with customer reviews. Although, being a Dell laptop owner myself, i would personally stick to a genuine product because you never know what can happen with these non-official products.
