Home Media Setup - Need Advice

Hi,

This has been driving me insane working out what I might need here. Basically my PC is currently in the lounge but I am moving upstairs because thats where it needs to go.

I would still like to listen to my music in the lounge, not movies, just mp3/WMA. I initially thought no probs just get some wireless headphones, but then thought I don't want to have to go upstairs everytime I might want to change a track etc.

So whats the best option here? I do have a laptop, is there any software preferable free I could install that would allow me to control the music from upstairs? Or is there another way? Another device perhaps?

For the record my laptop is well a netbook and runs a dual boot of Win XP and Ubunto Netbook Remix, and my main system is running Windows 7 Pro.

Hi,

Yeah, I had thought about that but was hoping to find something a bit more dedicated. Everything in my house is wireless so if no joy on the software front maybe I was thinking something like a media streamer?? plugged into a stereo or something.
