Samsung F3 reporting as about to fail in windows

Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit keeps reporting that my Samsung Hard Drive is about to fail.

I've run chk disk and Samsungs own board drive checking tool, but both report no problems.

The hard drive is still under warranty, isn't making any abnormal noises.

    Any suggestions?

    What chipset is your motherboard?

It seems that the Samsung F3 with newer firmware have issues with the SB850 southbridge.

Re: Samsung F3 reporting as about to fail in windows

Thanks, just found the other thread on the Samsung F3 .

My motherboard is a Gigabyte P45-Extreme, intel, so definitely not SB850.

The error seems very similar, so I'll give the firmware a try.
