Hey Guys bit of an issue here

A month or two ago while playing through mid game at any point the screen would go black and system would hang and I would have to hard reboot and I just ignored it because it didn't do it THAT much! but I bought red faction guerilla yesterday and the first mission ran fine then it did its normal tricks and the screen went black and hung, but on this game it seems to do it at pretty much the same time each time, about 10 seconds into the second mission it would hang and about 30 seconds to the first mission it happens so it makes me think it can't be a power issue otherwise it would be more erratic than that, changed all the drivers, under and over clocked GPU and CPU, stuck fan at 100 percent to see if its a heating issue and it does it every time at the same time.

Can't work out why.

PS - the first mission ran fine all the way through the first time and other times on cod it wont do it at all.

and its not the GSOD because the screen go's black :P

Sounds a lot like a heat/power issue. Have you pulled everything apart and checked that dust is clogging up all the vents. Ramping up the fan isnt much use if there's no holes for the air to pull through :p

Saying that, i have had a build that would just freeze up occationally for no reason and it turned out to be something wrong with video codecs :/

When googling the problem people have said its a power issue among other things though, would it be worth taking everything apart and getting the dust out the case, i keep the side off because I broke it so their is a lot of dust in their.

Could it be a RAM issue?

what are your system details? Graphics card, PSU etc?

ATI 4850

And I just tried to play red faction G again and it worked fine, no issues and my room is a lot colder because I had the window open last night but it was bloody hot in my room before I opened it! head issue anyone?

Try logging the temperatures - GPU-z does it, as does Speedfan.
