    It will probably get worse, I'd back-up your stuff now.

    Run CHKDSK (after you have backed up) it should mark the damaged sectors as bad so windows knows not to use them.

    Yes.

    Wipe it and buy a new one.

    if you're gonna bin it.. and it looks like it might be dying....and if it's ever had valuable data on it...

    drill it with a large electric drill, all the way through.... then stick it in a bucket of salty water for a week in the garden.
