Question What to do with a generic hardware BSOD (0x00000124)

I have a home built PC that is causing my jip.

    Core components are:

Gigabyte Motherboard (can't see the model number)
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz
    4GB Kingston Memory
    BFG 8800GT
OCZ Onyx 80GB SSD (primary HD)
    Samsung F3 1Tb (secondary HD)

I had Windows 7 x64 Ultimate running on this.

However, randomly I keep getting BSOD's with the stop code of 0x00000124. I've googled this to death and it appears to be a general hardware fault that gets passed to windows to BSOD the machine. Rebooting the machine to windows each time I can again work for a while and it'll BSOD again. There is no pattern to what I am doing. I could be using IE or playing games via steam.

So far I've pulled all the memory out and also the graphics card, but it still happens with exactly the same error.

Reading through the minidump files doesn't reveal anything other than it failing to load a DLL (which again I've not noted down ;-( )

i've gotten so frustrated that I've bought another motherboard and am going to swap that in (and re-install the OS)to see what happens.

Anyone got any handy troubleshooting tips I should try as I am at a loss myself now.

it often tells you what files set off the BSOD 124

turns out my chip couldnt clock as high stable as i thought
