    new rig not working

    hey guys,

Need some urgent help here. I've just upgraded several components in my rig and am having a few issues on start up.

the rig as it stands at the moment is:

    4gb Corsair 1600mhz
    AMD 1055t x6 AM3 processor
    Collermaster v6 gt cooler
    1000w ocz PSU
    MSI Twin Frozr II gtx580
    2x 320gb Maxtor HDD's in RAID
    AsRock 880g Extreme3 mobo
    1tb WD Hdd for backup

I've just replaced my old gtx280 with the gtx 580 and transferred it all from an antec 900 case to an coolermaster 690 II advanced Nvidia edition case. I've also just added the new fan, replacing the stock cpu cooler.

My problem is that when i start the thinking up the screen remains blank and the HDD and Power LED's blink in a 1-2 1-2 rhythm. This seems to coincide with the numbers flashing on the motherboard which say d1 and d3, flashing in the same rhythm.

all of the case fans power up but the green LED of the case fan in front does not light up...

If there's any more information that might be useful then just let me know.

    Please help

Thanks in advance for any replies

The 1-2 sounds like a visual reference to the bios beep codes.

in the first reference of the link provided, that would pertain to a GPU problem.

Just a double check, but have you connected the power adapters correctly to the GPU. There should be an 8 and a 6 pin connector.

If they are both correctly secured, then check that the card is seated in the PCI-ex slot correctly/fully. I've had an issue where my Antec 900 case didn't allow my GTX 480's PCI bracket to push down fully - I ended up applying gentle persuasion let's say...

Failing that, try the GTX 580 in a lower slot, with the GTX 280 in the primary, and the display connected as before to the 280, and see if windows finds it....

    Re: new rig not working

thanks for the swift reply. i dont know what i did but it seems to have worked... I'd reconnected sata connectors and reseated the gpu and ram

i think it might have been a dust issue. i had tried to thoroughly clean the inside but i think it might have made it into one of the slots causing a malfunction. that aside now the fron case fan LED is not alight...

    i hate new builds sometimes...
