Napoleon Total War unplayable due to sound bug!

Installed the game on Thursday and played it for a few hours, with no issues at all and sound ok. But yesterday while just on the map view, there was this buzzing sound that came through the speakers. I quickly saved, and then exited the game. When I was back to desktop a box appeared saying, Napoleon Total War was not responding. Now today it has happened three times! I have no idea if it is the game or my system. I should add that once i'm back to desktop the sound continues.

This may not be related but the top fan on my antec 902 makes a high pitch sound when playing the game. I have to reboot to stop the sound!!

The system is brand new and I only had it since Monday from Scan.

If the issue continues after the game is exited it would suggest that you may have a driver or OS issue, rather than a game bug (though it's still possible I'd say it's unlikely). Update drivers as a first port of call?

I've had this before, but only a few times after a few hours of gaming - specific to NTW.
