    Laptop battery

    The battery on this laptop has just about karked. Can anyone recommend a trustworthy and cheap retailer of replacement batteries ?

    had to help a friend find a new battery for his flatmate's laptop last weekend. Sony wanted £160 for it - Play.com did it for £32.

    Get the battery number, google it and go through their shopping pages until you find the best price from a seller you vaguely trust. Anything more than £40 to keep an old laptop going isn't worth it in my book - better investing money in a new machine after that point.

    Yes - I've been looking around and they range from 35.00 for el-dodgy companys to >£100. I'll have a go at Play Thanks

    I got one from a random eBay seller. Typical seller that sells 1000s of these sorts of items. Felt dodgy. However, the battery turned out to be identical to the original (apart from some branding) and works perfectly.
