Exclamation 2.5mm plug PC gaming Headset ?

    Hello,

I was looking for quite a long time around for a Headset which has Microphone and Headphones that has a 2.5mm plug attached to it so you could unplug it whenever you wanted directly. I found several Cellphone Headsets with a 2.5mm plug but not one PC gaming headset. The one I found that came close is the Razer Electra, which has a plug directly in the headphones, but no Microphone it has only a microphone thats inbound in an extra cable. I just can't seem to find one. To make it more clear what i want to find i drew a picture in paint for you to see. http ://img194.imageshack.us/img194/2010/needi.jpg

I mean is it just not possible to make such a thing ?

The reason I want something like that is because I am tired of breaking cables on Gaming Headsets, happens to cheap ones as often as to expensive ones. With a cable you could just plug in and out i would never ever have a problem anymore with cables, if it breaks i just get me a new cable not the whole headset.

Anyone knows a system like the one I am looking for or has another solution for me ?

I don't know if it's possible but you could also swap the 2.5mm for a 3.5mm 4 conductor plug so you have stereo sound and microphone in one cable.

Took me a while to understand what you want - which is headphones that have a connector at the headphones end so you don't have to trail a cable.

Go wireless if that's an issue:

    or

    for example.

    Hello,

Yes I know there are wireless ones but I had only bad experience with them.

The best solution i can think of now is a Headset like the Razer Electra but with a built in Microphone and a 3.5mm 4 conductor plug. I wish there was something like that on hte market .

Re: 2.5mm plug PC gaming Headset ?

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but I'm guessing you're after a headset and an adapter to convert the headset's single 4-pole 2.5/3.5mm headset connection which carries both headphone and mic signals in to separate 3.5mm connectors, e.g. pink mic and green headphone.

Why not just get two 3.5mm extension cables and a regular gaming headset?

Anyway, I've not seen any gaming headsets with a 4-pole connection but there are such adaptors available – albeit uncommon, you can also build an adaptor yourself which isn't a difficult task if you're able to solder.

Re: 2.5mm plug PC gaming Headset ?

    Hello,

yes I guess my explanationwas not so good, so I'll try again. What I want is a Headset with Microphone and a 4 conductor 3.5mm plug directly on the Headphones so you can unplug it there. This would need a 4 Conductor end to end cable where one end you can plug into the headphones and the other end you can plug into an adapter that can split it into a mic and an audio line. The reason for all this would be I would never ever have to buy a new headset just because the cable is broken.
