Lots of people (gamers) go with the Xonar DG as it has a dedicated headphone amp and Dolby Headphone. I believe the DS doesn't have dolby headphone and the DX doesn't have the dedicated headphone amp (however good/bad the quality of this is).

I have been looking at the DG and apparently some people say its only a bit better than onboard sound?

I would want something as good as the XtremeGamer.

Also within the Audio Console you can assign channels, which is useful because I have my rear speakers back to front, so I have to assign RR to RL and RL to RR, can you do this in other sound cards? Because otherwise rear sounds would be coming out of the wrong speaker if you get me?

Really? I don't believe that for a second.

Should be able to with the Audio centre, but I've not tried.

Might get it, its only £12.50 on eBay New

Would I notice any sound difference from my current card though?

As long as it has decent sound quality I don't mind, just don't want flat sound as some people said about it

I use 4.0 setup. No headphones, and I know this is the main function of the card, is headphones

Re: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Help??

Moved to a new motherboard (ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3) and for some reason after reinstalling windows and letting the devices install, I decided to give the X-FI a try.

So far no popping or crackling issues... 8GB RAM 64-bit.

No idea how long this will last though. Fingers crossed it was just the nForce being a pain.

And also surprisingly the audio codec (VIA VT1708S 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC) quality is actually decent. Produces pretty clear sound, shocking from onboard audio.

If my X-FI busts out again I will probably stick with the onboard, because it isn't all that bad, and has a very sleek audio console to go with it

Anyone know how to correct channels? I saw somewhere you can do it, . My power cable isn't long enough (And it is attached) to my Speakers. My creative speakers are my front, so I got another 2 behind me... in reserve, RR is RL and RL is RR. So without the creative channel assignment I would get left sounds out of the right speaker.
