    Magnify.exe - Application Error (0x000007b)

I'm getting this error below on Windows 7 64bit.

    Magnify.exe - Application Error

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application
It all started when I copied my OS partition, cloned the entire OS HDD and moved it to a other drive then back again to the first drive after resizing it.

Everything else works, no other errors for anything else, but it seems this little thing is broken, it's amazing out of all the things I use... it's such a tiny thing.

I tried to extract a uncorrupted version of the .exe from my retail disk, but that didn't work.

I can't do a system restore, since there are no backups. Looking on Google for resolutions have failed, but looking up the error code itself, could be a problem with .NET Framework?

I'm getting the feeling, that the only way to fix this is to reinstall the OS.

Any help would be most welcome.

Check both drives with HD Tune and click the SMART tab, could be something wrong with one of the drives

Thanks Streetster, but no need, I managed to extract a clean copy of the .exe file the retail disk and try to use that, same problem, which leads me to think there has to be a .dll or some problem somewhere.

    Re: Magnify.exe - Application Error (0x000007b)

I have now fixed this by replacing the damaged .dll file with a clean version.

If anyone else has this problem in the future, steps to fix it is provided here: http://www.sevenforums.com/general-d...0x000007b.html
