Anyone know where I can get the drivers for the Marvell SATA controller for this mobo so I can install Windows on my SATA drive?
My A7N8X-E died on me last night, the DFI was the only decent board PC World had in stock...
:edit: It uses the Marvell 88i8030 chip and Marvell's site doesn't have ANY drivers...Urgent help would be very much appreciated.

They're not there, I've already looked. The RAID drivers are for the HighPoint RAID device which is an IDE RAID controller. Nothing to do with SATA.
From some of it you don't need sata drivers has such.....you use the high point drivers so it picks the ide raid up and from that it picks the sata up.......
That guy has the NFII Ultra Infinity which has an nVidia chipset, not Via. I can't install the 4in1 drivers as I can't even start loading Windows...Originally Posted by Apex
No, you can have either the HighPoint RAID enabled OR SATA, not both. And the HighPoint RAID is for ATA drives, not SATA.

Great, I've now just found a review saying that they couldn't get the board over 188MHz FSB!
The KT400A chipset officially supports 400fsb memory but only 333fsb CPU (just like the KT333 supported 333fsb memory but only 266fsb CPU)

Ahh, this motherboard is crap. I'm taking it back to Pissy World and getting a decent nForce2 board...

That's bizarre... The motherboard has a jumper for the CPU FSB to be set to 200MHz, and it also has a 200MHz option in the BIOS? Weird...

That setup to use the one SATA drive is more or less automatic AND means you cannot hookup anything on the Primary EIDE as Master. If you have anything hooked there it could be causing the problem. That SATA drive thru the marvel phy layer is loading itself onto the first channel of the mobo EIDE as the Master."

So basicly you only need to load the ide raid drivers ?
or is it saying the sata is supported in the bios has a ide interface ?
had this with a few intel mobos where the sata is supported without drivers
Well, I tried, but it's still not working!
I can't believe it's so difficult to get a SATA drive working!
All those tutorials and messages seem to be for the NFII boards, not the KT400A board. I've registered but can't yet post (STUPID) and need to get a response on this. I can't even use my IDE drive as it already has a Windows installation on it and it has all my files on it too. I can't format it...
Damn, this is SOOO annoying! Does anyone have any ideas how to get this working please?
