    How to display/show a monitors up-time?

    I'm trying to find out how old or how long some Dell monitors have been running for but for the life of me, I can't find how you show it?

    Or... can it even been shown? I know some TV's can show you how long they been running since they first powered up, but can PC Monitors?

    I would say it's unlikely to find a uptime, I've never been made aware of such a thing, monitors are pretty dumb devices on the whole.

    How old they are might be found by consulting the service tag if they have one? One decent system Dell runs.

    :Edit LOL Eating my words, just found on my HP monitor that under information on the on screen menu tells me a couple of time stats.

    Total hours and backlight hours...assuming that the on/standby time and the actual hours I've used it for. No idea if Dells have this, but guess check.

    You can find out how long a Dell monitor has been switched on by accessing the service menu, I can't remember how to do it myself but you can stick the monitor's model number in google along with "service menu" to find out how to get to it.

    Hmm, I opened the "menu" and couldn't find anything like that, am thinking there has to be some combo button that you gotta do for it to show up.

    Re: How to display/show a monitors up-time?

    My Dell 2007WFP for example, I can access the monitor's service menu which is a different menu to the regular menu by the following button combo;

    - Starting with the monitor switched off (but plugged in)
    - Hold down the "menu" and "+" button then turn on the monitor using the power button, let go of the buttons
    - Press the "-" button

    That brings up the service menu which displays the monitor's power on time.

    My Dell 1909FW's service menu can be accesed in a similar fashion;

    - as the first two steps above;
    - press the menu button
    - navigate to "reset to factory settings"
    - select "factory"
    ... which brings up the service menu.
