serial numbers

I have been offered a toshiba staellite 2610 laptop with the serial number removed from the rear. Does the laptop have a serial number inside the laptop to find if its stolen or not. thank you

Im pretty sure there is one inside as well, where did you get it from someone in the pub?

hes a good lad who bought it off a mate of a mate. I just don't want to be breaking any laws so I thought if i opened it up i might be able to find a serial number inside

to be honest I have a Tosh Satellite and the power connector is connected to a part of the main keyboard which lifts when trying to open, this inturn may disconnect the power lead and result in the power button not working.

Id leave alone to be honest and just hope that it isnt stolen
