Hotmail has been hijacked...

So my hotmail account has been taken over....or should i say someone else was using it.

I can still log in but the account is blocked, my alternative email address is not used anymore so cannot get it back that way XD it wont allow me to enter my secret question so cannot do it that way either!

To add to this, when i enter information about my account, Microsoft wont give me the account back as i obviously cannot remember everything which is a pain,is there any other routes i can take to try and regain access to my account?

When you say your alternative email address is not used anymore, what does that mean? It has expired?

If so, remake it again and get the recovery password sent to it.

As in i closed it, i added my gmail as an alternative yet it doesnt seem to have taken and hotmail still seems to be trying to use the old email account...which i closed down, messed up i know

If it's closed down, you should be able to register it again.

not if it was an old company/university one etc. If it was a paid-for one, then agreed, just sign-up to it again.

and I'm confused, if you can still log in what's the problem?

You can log in, but you cant do anything, when you log in, it'll just give you a "Your account has been blocked" message.

Thats it dokdek, its driving me nuts....there is stuff in the account i want and my psn is linked to it which is a pain

youll have to actually contact microsoft to get it back. i think you have to do it through email. i went through the same thing once and they got my account back for me

Well time to chime back in got my account back after jumping through so many damn loops with microsoft! anyway i guess its good they blocked the account, but i remembered i changed the account name to something silly, added that to the form you fill in and a few extra old passwords and boom got my account back finally! so yes very happy now guys
