WD Scorpio Blue Clicking and Disconnecting

Occasionally, the Scorpio Blue used as a storage drive in my PC will start making a loud clicking noise and become completely unresponsive. This is not the noise from aggressive head parking; I've already adjusted APM to stop the drive parking the head every 5 seconds as it's also used as a temp/cache drive.

Edit: Some text removed. Thanks for looking but I've resolved the problem; this time it turned out to be another awful quality ebay cable (Molex>SATA splitter) I recently added to try to organise cables in PC better. Either wires were too thin or contacts were poor, or a combination of the two. Again, cables are labelled as 18AWG which is a complete lie. I will attempt to find and notify the seller of the problem, for all the good it will do.

Some of you will have already read through the thread I started about a similar issue, and my advice remains; be very careful when buying ebay cables as it seems a great deal of them are basically cheap counterfeits. Do not pay attention to the thickness of the insulator or the cable markings as they are often faked. IIRC most of these crap cables were from 'power sellers' or sellers with very high ratings, so that doesn't ensure decent stock either.

eBay can be a right pain in the ass

Best to use Scan to buy cables. At least the cables will be as specified.

I'm going to use reputable suppliers in future, but delivery charges are a pain if you only want one cable.
