Is this drive the systems main drive? Do you have windows XP? Is the sata cable good? Did you try the primitive Fdisk?

i think it's because PM doesn't have the 'SCSI' drivers to enable the SATA when booting in DOS - I tried to partition my C:\ SATA drive, but when PM booted to do its thing, my SATA's were not enabled and my backup drive on the IDE ports became C:\ so it tried to partition that I was *not* happy, it corrupted the HD and had to spend hours recovering the damn thing

lol.... No one will help you! And I thought Hexus was a friendly place!

Yes it says it requiers a floppy.... perhaps you could use Nero to create a bootable CD.... Or maybe even just burn the files to a CD! Your PC should be able to boot from a CD! Also, could you stick the drive in another PC and format it while in windows?

    download knoppix, burn to cd

put in cd drive, boot, wait

click the K button, look in the menus for QTParted

use that to resize the ntfs partition.

There are many tools out there, I could spend hours posting links for you....

I asked Direct hex to help! I kinda gave up! Sorry... You could try to use this instead! It has the tools that directhex was talking about...
