My mouse has been acting up lately, with erratic, unresponsive movements and sometimes not recognising clicks. i'm not sure about the clicks, but I'm wondering if the movement might mean the sensor needs cleaning. The question is, what do I need to use?
If it's not the sensor, how could I figure out what the problem is? I'm not using the Logitech drivers, just XP's native drivers.

1/2m distnace base - mouse it works fine
1m and the bottons dont work but the movements fine.

My MX700 works fine at the other side of the room, ~3m or so...
Could it be dying? I've had it a couple of years. Is this an excuse to get an mx1000 LASER mouse?
