    Cleaning mx700 mouse optical sensor

    My mouse has been acting up lately, with erratic, unresponsive movements and sometimes not recognising clicks. i'm not sure about the clicks, but I'm wondering if the movement might mean the sensor needs cleaning. The question is, what do I need to use?

    If it's not the sensor, how could I figure out what the problem is? I'm not using the Logitech drivers, just XP's native drivers.

    Cheers, could this be caused by anything else though? Is there any way to get diagnostics on the usb ports?

    Could it be dying? I've had it a couple of years. Is this an excuse to get an mx1000 LASER mouse ?

    Hmmmm.....

    ** Strokes MX1000**

    You know you want one.....
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.
