XFX Radeon 7790 1GB DD Edition

I bought the Radeon 7790 1GB from scan a few months ago and i have had problems with it ever since. It has caused BSOD's to the point of trying every windows version out and only Windows 8.1 Stops it. Random freezes (Black Screen). It is starting to frustrate me that only AMD Cards seem to have a variety of easily fixable problems.

    Problem 1 - (Most Annoying)

Dots on textures in games. When playing certain games, i will get dotted textures, like black dots for Minecraft, on the grass without anistropic filtering enabled, grass shows up with black outlines or weirdly dotted over the texture from a distance. or on DayZ with ATOC enabled for Grass and Trees, it would show up with weird dots on the textures. I submitted a bug report for it on the DayZ Bug Tracker seeing as it is a problem with it in the ArmA series aswell, but not tested on ArmA III but i'm guessing it will still happen. Also in The Elder Scrolls: Online, when certain textures move or dissapear like opening a chest, it will create a dotted texture and then dissapear with it.

    Problem 2

Flashing Screen from GPU. My screen will flash black very quickly, within milliseconds and then go back normal again. I am not sure whether this a GPU problem or Power Problem with the PSU. This has only happened since i installed the GPU.

    PC Specs:

    Intel Core i3 2120 3.3GHz
    ASUS P8H61 R2.0 ATX
    Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600Mhz 8GB
XFX Radeon 7790 1GB Double Dissipation Edition
550W Power Supply (I'm not sure of the name brand which is why i think that the pc isn't getting enough power to power the GPU, and i the reason for freezes etc.. Also i don't think the PSU is outputting 550W seeing as it isn't even a named brand like Corsair, SeaSonic etc...)

If you've got an unbranded PSU then that might be causing some problems. I was running a 480w Tagan (admittedly fairly old but a reasonable brand) with a GTX560 Ti and had to replace it because I was overloading it and it was starting to make funny clicking noises. Does anyone you know have a better power supply you could test it with before splashing out?

No, not many people i know play PC so don't have a power supply sufficient enough to power everything inside, i might just splash out, better to have a branded efficient power supply than a non branded one that might break

That's probably the best idea. A good power supply is one of the most important things for a stable system. You don't have to spend that much to get a good one as long as you're not looking at SLI/Crossfire type setup. Might be worth doing some research though as to what wattage you need.

Something like that should be more than enough. There are cheaper options but it's worth spending a bit more for a known brand. Depends if you want a modular one for neatness as that'll cost a bit more.

I'd probably go for an XFX (seasonic components) HERE.

Corsair CX is known to use cheaper components inside.
"If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0" ||| "I'm not interrupting you, I'm putting our conversation in full-duplex mode" ||| "The problem with UDP joke: I don't get half of them"
"I’d tell you the one about the CIDR block, but you’re too classy" ||| "There’s no place like 127.0.0.1" ||| "I made an NTP joke once. The timing was perfect."
"In high society, TCP is more welcome than UDP. At least it knows a proper handshake."
