    Unhappy What Is My Ram Guys?

    Alrite Guys,


    Can you please tell me if my current ram running on my P4 Dell system will work on my new Asus Socket 478 mobo.

    The ram is 512mb but i don't know if it is ddr or sd or anything else for that matter, can u please find out for me, as soon as possible because i need to know before tomorrow please.

    The ram is made by Samsung serial number 202 K4H560838C , it also this on the front, M36826423CTL CBO.

    My new motherboard is the Asus P4S800.

    If memory serves, if it has one notch at the bottom of the stick then it's DDR, but if it's SD RAM it'll have two notches.

    The stick in the picture only has one notch (circled in red), so it's a DDR stick.

    download and run it and hit the memory tab

    Edit: In the box labeled type it will say DDR-SDif it's DDR ram

    iranu beat me to it.

    The memory is DDR266 cas 2.5, and the stickers suggect that its 256MB (so i geuss its a 2x256 combination). This should be fine with the ASUS mobo, and compatibility issues are highly unlikey.

    Would it be possible 2 buy anova 1 ov them nd make it 1gb ram?

    would 2 * 266mhz pc2100's work 2ge4?

    Yes you could add another and get 1gb

    check here for specific details of your ram.

    You might have difficulty sourcing it though.
