Virus infection!

Just loaded AVG 7 onto my mates PC and it has picked up 40 infected files.

They are all infected with a Worm called Niklas.AB

It seems that most of the files he has downloaded are infected with this virus. It seems to be picking up stuff like Omegadrivers etc, all .exe files that have been downloaded really.

Can anyone shed any light on this and what I gotta do about it?

Boot the system up into safemode first by pressing F5 after the initial bios boot up screen, after that rerun the AVG program to see what it picks up.

A good one to also check is for spyware, I personally recommend Ad Aware as it can sometimes stop trojan viruses. you can get that from www.downloads.com

Trouble with worms they tend to infect anything and everything and ataches itself to any outgoing e-mails via Outlook.

In the query search bar put in Niklas

Check :

Viruses, Trojan horses, Worms and Macros

Then hit the search, it finds 2 things with Niklas in the virus definitions, it could be one of them, click each link and it gives more details and also how to remove the said virus.
