Is this server worth anything? (two pics)

It was given to me buy my boss as a leaving gift (straight up) it was used as the old server as has a Seagate tape drive, a PIII I gig cpu and space for another one I see, also has 512 meg of ram and lots other bits and bobs that I don’t recognise I was thinking of selling it on, it’s in a sturdy elonex case and has two hard drives

    Any rough price ideas?

does it work for starters?? then you must make a choice if you want to sell it as a whole or in parts.

looks a respectable bit of kit.

probably around £400 with the 2 CPU's around £300 with an empty slot
    It is Inevitable.....

£100 for a P3? I doubt it you could get a brand new P4 for that, but I think for what you have there your looking at £200 I reckon as it doesnt seem to have RAID or SCSI or a lot of drives the only thing that sets it apart is the dual chip board, doesnt have a redundant PSU either, if it comes with a legit OS I reckon you might be able to flog it to a small business easy enough otherwise you gonna end up selling to a techy and you know how stingy they can be...

thank guys, it all works as i installed a win xp to test it all out, so how much would be a fair price to start off in the for sale section? £200?

Looking around on ebay etc similar specced IBM servers go for around £100 + pnp

you would be pushing to ask for more than that with only 1 CPU and no RAID or SCSI.

Also worth less if theres no legit OS with a licence ;/

I suggest you boot it up, and install SiSoft Sandra and Everest. That will allow you to get specifics on all the components, and therefore reach a more realistic and accurate price
