Saving money are Phone calls and Broadband???

Hi guys and girls

My friend wants to know, which is the best broadband to get performance versus Price?? He got a BT phoneline so cant have telewest etc

He spends over £170+ a quarter on phone calls alone, anyone know how he can reduce this??
