machine hangs on bios "welcome" message

    hi all,

I've had a working new machine for around a month now, its an Asus AV8 rev2 motherboard with a Athlon FX55 CPU

Its been working without any issues.

Today I installed Microsoft Active Sync for my IPAQ and rebooted.

Now when the machine powers on it sits on the Asus "welcome" screen.

the keyboard is dead (no num lock on /off or ctrl+alt+delete) I can't hit tab for post messages and I can't hit delete to enter the bios.

I can only hold down the power button or hit reset to try again (which it still hangs on )

this can't be anything to do with active sync as this is simpley software however, it is probably the reboot that has highlighted this issue.

I get no beeps on power on

    What can cause this ?

    Suggestions on resolutions ?

Keep in mind this machine has been working fine, and has had about 2 reboots today without issue

    Urgent and solid advice required.

well, unplugging the USB cradle for the for the IPAQ and the machine booted.

    Back to some more investigations.

    Apologies for the false alarm
