Elusive piece of hardware wanted

Hi there,

Have a all-in-one machine but the backlight inverter is gone (I know because with a sufficiently strong light I can see the icons when I boot the machine).

However I can't find that PCB anywhere. Anybody would have ideas I haven't tried?

Any chinese knock off things you can get?

I had the backlight inverter fail on a monitor a long time ago. One of the capacitors on the board had failed. I changed all of them and it went on to give a few more year's service. Might be worth a shot.

Same here - I've replaced caps and components on a number of monitors over the years - most of which are still working today.

OP, can you post a pic of the actual PCB, maybe there's a fix?

I can’t see anything obvious. IIRC the capacitors I changed were very low value (not electrolytic) that we’re connected across the tube outputs - but the capacitors doing a similar function are all surface mount on your board, and re-working surface mount devices is very tricky without practice and the right equipment.

Noe of them is to the close inspection but I may replace them.
