    Win 10 problem

    Morning Hexus,

I would appreciate your help please. Couple of months ago I upgraded granddaughters Lenovo laptop to Win10 (from 8). At the same time set her up with an outlook live account and this was how she unlocked the laptop to use. Unfortunately clever person that she is she has managed to change her password. As a result she cannot open her laptop and cannot get MS to send her a new password as she cannot access the account.

I have tried repair but to no avail so I now plan to totally remove everything from the hard drive and install a fresh copy of win 10.

As I have now pretty much retired I am not up with removal programs. I think I used to use Dban.

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions please to get this machine working again.

Personally, I would remove the drive and wipe it on another machine, format it and then do a re-install. (external bays are a few quid on ebay)

    Re: Win 10 problem

If you don't need to save anything just download Windows 10 to a USB PEN wipe the disk from there using the 'Custom' install and re-install Windows.

If you have data to save from the Laptop use a Windows PE or Linux Bootable drive, plug in another USB pen to save data then re-install Windows. Should be no need to remove the disk from Laptop

There are ways to bypass the Windows 10 login password.... google is your friend on this one.
