Its very rare that task manager immediately closes a unresponsive program, and you will usually experience lag and a window in window graphics corruption until the program is closed.

Sometimes the whole computer can come to a standstill when programs become unresposnive, so I suggest if you get that with a program, you should reboot.

Erm donut, that simply isn't true. The PC freeze up happens when cancelling Applications and Processes.

Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
You may have some spyware that is making it crash possibly ?
Try booting into safemode and run a full Antri Virus scan not ommiting anything in the search and also do the same with ad ad aware
Try closing a progravim a 'processes' when it becomes unresponsive. It does suffer from the same lag and freezing that closing through 'Applications' gives you.
In fact, only 20 minutes ago I had an unresponsive program, and closing the process in 'processes' made the PC hang for about 3 minutes, before a 'would you like to send Microsoft a error report' window came up.
Btw, I wondered if you could help me with some weird problem I've been getting. If I have Task Manager running, and I click Windows Update, I see in the applications tab, a program called SysFader is launched for about 1.5 seconds. Then it closes, and Windows Update launches in Internet Explorer.
I checked Google, and it seems SysFader is some virus, but I only get it when launching Windows Update. Anyone know whats going on? Google's results all have people with computers that reboot themselves etc, whereas I have none of that.
