    Gmail won't let me send 'Read' receipts via outlook

    God, this is annoying me.

    Ok, I access my Gmail account through Outlook 2003.

    My dad sent me an email today, and (for some reason) requested a 'read' receipt upon opening it. I accepted the request, and Outlook went about it's business trying to send the receipt.

    Problem is, Gmail doesn't seem to want to know! I can send normal emails via Gmail just fine, but it just won't take these damned receipts.

    The error message it gives is along the lines of:


    "Task 'andy.hopperNOSPAM@NOSPAMgmail.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: □□'"

    Yes, it actually comes out with those squares.

    I can't find anything queued up in the outbox for sending.....is there a cache I can delete or something to get rid of this queue of receipts waiting to be sent?

    Just got this error message as well:


    Task 'andy.hopperNOSPAM@NOSPAMgmail.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 421 4.4.5 Try again later, closing connection.'

    Its possibly Gmail. I had issues checking my mail via POP too.

    keep in mind it's still in beta (damn thing should be out of beta now though), but it would be a good idea to report it..

    Ok, well I reported it and all I got was this lame standard email, haha:

    "Hello,
