    Blank Green Screen

Hi, my daughter's pc keeps getting a blank green screen and becoming unresponsive. A quick reset would usually fix it, but this week it hasn't. Now when I turn it on, PSU fan comes on, DVD drive works, but pc doesn't start. Fans attached to motherboard don't come on either. So I tried taking some RAM out, see if it made a difference. PC came on. Great! I thought. But no, same thing happened. Next morning my daughter plugged her phone into the USB port on the case and it started charging. So there must be power going to the motherboard, so it must be another issue. I removed the GPU next. PC came on. Great! I thought. But no, pc went off again. So I just put the gpu back in and left it to try find answers.

    Everything up to date

Time for new pc? Or is this a known issue?

    Re: Blank Green Screen

I would try and reproduce the fault if possible. Reset CMOS; sometimes gets rid of the gremlins. Save any changes you want first.

Hwinfo and he monitor are useful. If you load it up and check the numbers. The psu rails should be within 5%. Temps should be reasonable. And try a stress test; prime32 is pretty good. Something graphically intensive to check the GPU maybe.

    Re: Blank Green Screen

Well it did the same thing with the gpu in place, and without it, just using the onboard graphics (only for youtube or web browsing)

I'm just pricing up a replacement, might get her a Ryzen 5 3400G setup (or possibly Ryzen 3 3300x), then give her my rtx 2060 and get myself an RTX 2070 Super. And get the same setup for my son as my daughter. Keeps them both and myself happy that way :-D

Then I can probably try figure it out when she's not pestering me for it so I have a backup pc, or use it for media storage/home film server
