    Re: delete account

An alternate option I recommend is to manually remove any information within your account profile, like system build, private messages, signature etc... then set your account to a decomposing email and a random password that you don't log and it is no longer associated with you should there be a future hack.
I do this quite a lot now rather than trusting a delete function. A lot of websites still hold on to your data even after they've 'deleted' your account. Be especially weary of any sites that say you can never use the current email again, to me that means they still keep your data in the system, you just can't access it.

    Re: delete account

One aspect of whether stuff gets deleted when it supposedly gets deleted was how Apple's OS update seem to have managed to create magic self-undeleting photos, months or even a year or more after the user "deleted" them. Including, apparently, nude pics and some, umm ... sexually 'educational' ones.

    Oops, Apple.
