Two questions about a new processor and One about hard drive.

Anyways, I'm getting a new hard drive. I dont care really about how big or serial ata stuff. I was just thinking about getting a 7200rpm 8mb cache 80GB hard drive. How is this? http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...ct_Code=150127

Now I have a Gig of 3200 style memory. I'm running a 2400XP 266fsb. Now shouldnt I want a 333fsb processor? I'm asking this because, does it matter if you go OVER the fsb? Like i'm saying what if I want to get a 3200XP instead of a 2800XP? Would it still work well with my memory like the 2800XP(333fsb) would? Well That's out of the way, I was thinking of getting a Processor from the range of a Barton 2800XP to a 3200XP. You guys know of any good one I should get?

For the processor get an XP2500+ and run it with a 200 fsb to give 3200+ speed. Or, if you can find one, get the mobile version of the same cpu. You then have the option of playing around with the multiplier.

They are indeed very good drives, have some myself. Totally reliable.
However also take a look at

I'm trying to get a LOT more speed so would anything happen if I bought a 3200XP? Would that run smooth with my 3200 type memory? If so, what's the exact one I should get?

the XP-M 2500, especially coupled with a good mobo like the NF7-S will give you the speed you need. Will clock to XP3200 speeds and then some. Will run ultra smooth wth the ram you have.

Ok well I dont clock what so ever, but isnt XP-M mean it's mobile? I dont have a lap top explain that please lol. Also, I Just dont get how that's faster then something like a 2800XP or a 3200XP? Oh and was one of your hard drive's that you listed above a 10,000rpm 60+GB 8mb cache? If so will that work just like a regular hard drive without any serial ata or whatever?

It's only faster when you overclock it 12x200 should do the trick. It's just cheaper than a 3200 & it'll run just as fast when pushed. And yes, it is primarily a mobile chip. Jst means native voltage is a little lower than std, which gives you more headroom when overclocking.

And if i've listed a 10000 rpm drive then i'm a n00b The seagate drives are class. Not noticed any diff between one of those & a 36gig 10000rpm Raptor. And it's quiet.

Well you've pretty much got me super intrigued on the 2500XP-M. I was reading those reviews about it, were all those test mainly ran with it overclocked? If so, I was wondering from the bios, from the programs I would need to get. What's the exact process of overclocking this bad boy? I just dont want to do what i've done in the past and burn the hell out of the cpu lol. So yea if you could gimme a step by step lol I think i'll go with the xp-m.
