Red face What does this mean?

I have bought a new game, 'Brothers in Arms', but when I insert my DVD to attempt to install it, I just get a message box with a red circle with a white cross through it, that says "This application has failed to start because Core.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I have no idea what this means, or what to do next. I'm not having much luck with Ubisoft.

The system uses a Gigabyte 8IPE775 Pro motherboard with Intel 2.6GHz CPU; XFX GeForce 6800 Ultra 256Mb graphics card; 2Gb DDR RAM; and 120Gb H/D, and runs under Windows XP Pro.

    Thanks.

If its during the autorun pre installation, check the disk is free of scratches/marks/hairs etc.

If that doesnt work, you could try a different drive incase your drive is on its way out.

Have you tried to skip the auto setup and ran the setup.exe file from the disc manually ?

Thanks a lot - why didn't I think of that? There were a few scratches on the DVD, but I gave it a quick wipe over with window cleaner and it worked first time!
