My Hard Drive has dissapeared!

Hello, after fiddling around suspeneding the hard disks in different places my secondary hard drive has dissapeared.

It is a Samsung SATA 120GB Spinpoint. I have tried it with different cables etc. But nothing is registering. The hard drive itself I can hear working, the power is not a problem, I can hear it as I write now.

I have looked in BIOS and nothing is there, I have looked in the control panel and administrative tools and nothing is there.

It has been working fine for around 6 months or so.

I have also swapped the SATA cables around, sadly my other primary HD is a samsung ATA as I ordered the wrong thing, I don't have anything else to test it with.


Has anyone got any ideas?

My system is:

3800+ Venice
MSI Neo 2 Platinum
256mb 6800GT
2GB PC3200
Audigy 2
1 x 80GB Samsung Spinpoint ATA
1 x 120GB Samsung Spinpoint SATA

I had this problem, i found that i had bent one of the IDE pins by putting the IDE cable in the wrong way

Pain in the arse to get it back out again and required patience but since pulling it out its been fine

Ignore me please.

I forgot that my windows drive is SATA and application is IDE, I got the two mixed around.

All sorted now though.
