DVI problem

Having some issues with a new monitor i have bought, for some reason, when i plug it into my machine using the DVI connection , the monitor will not initialise, use a DVI to D sub converter with a VGA lead and it works fine, am i missing something along the way???


Surely i should just plug it in and go .... right.

On my Digimate 1916D 19" monitor i had to press the menu buttons and change the input to DVI to get it to work.

See if thats whats wrong with yours.

Oh sorry armagon that i didnt reply earlier
It's the up and down button.

Press it and it will swap between RGB and DVI.

do i do that while the monitor is on or off???

sounds silly but if i ppress the arrows with it on will it not just bring up a OSD display of somesort???

While the monitor is on

The screen says RGB then when you press the up\down button it changes to DVI and vice versa.

Hope this helps, if it does not then there must be a fault??
