The lights are on but no-ones home....

Ok, today I installed an arctic cooler on my 6800gt, an arctic cooler 4 on my cpu and 1gb extra corsair ram into my computer. I put it back on my desk and then booted it up, fine. I then put the side back on and booted up. My computer then decided that my mouse, keyboard etc were all new and needed drivers. Ho hum I though, and reset. Now all I have is a computer that spins up, the hdd's make their little noise and then nowt. It keeps on humming, but there is no bios bleep and nothing appears on the monitor.

    It is a p4 3.0 pressie on a abit ic7, with 2gb of corsair xms 3200c2pt and a bfg 6800gt.

Any Ideas? Have I borked the bios or something even worse?

    Try reseting the CMOS.

Then remove the graphics and ram, see if you get any beeps.

If you do then try the graphics, see if you still get beeps.

Yes; try one ram, then the other.

Took out graphics, high pitched one tone.
Reset CMOS with power plug out, same.

back to basics - remove everything except the graphics and see if you get a display, if still nothing plug in a different graphics card and see if it's the graphics. Also check your cooler is still fitted ok.
If that still doesn't work take the cmos battery out for a minute, refit it, and try again. After that your looking at a goosed power supply or mobo.

    Take out Old ram.

May have been a problem that damaged the old stuff.

Ok. Tried every combo. Would seem that mobo is dead as it doesn't even wail when the gfx is removed etc. Oh well. RMA to scan time!
