    Question New Hard Drive

    Hi,

Hopefully there is a simple solution to this:

Basically I have bought a new hard drive and I want to move everything from my current hard drive over to the new one and use the new one as the boot drive. Obviously it is not just a case of pasting the contents of one drive to the other so I was wondering what I need to do or if there anre any particular tools I need.

    Thanks
    TP

Funnily enough PCMover is free for the next day or two: if it works out let me know as I've never tried this program but it seems to be what you're after.

Unfortunately, PCMover is used to move data between 2 PC's: you need two PC's with PCMover installed on both. What I need is a way of "cloning" one hard drive on to another. Norton Ghost seems the best suggestion so far.

    Thanks,

drive2drive (or Caspar XP for win 2k, Win XP systems) enables you to make an exact clone of one drive on another- even if they are of different sizes. I have used it several times - excellent software! www.fssdev.com/products/drive2drive

I ended up using Acronis True Image 8.0 which did the job perfectly. They have a fully functional 15 day trial vesion you can download.
