Unhappy Altec Lansing Speakers turning on/off constantly...

    Hey Guys,

All of a sudden today my speakers (altec lansing 4.1 ones from aria over a year ago) started to turn on/off randomly - like flicking on off on off maybe twice a second... if i unplug the front right speaker (the one with the controls) the speakers dont turn on/off but as soon as i plug it back in the randomness begins again.

I've tried taking the batteries out of the remote control - its not that...

    anyone got any ideas?

    Cheers

    edit: these ones

Anything else (remote control wise) that could be causing it?

Some years ago I had a problem with a TV turning on and off at random - and the rmote wouldn't work - I looked at the remote through a videao camera (it detects the IR) and found it was always on - taking it apart revealed that the end had been dunked in Ribena!!!! (Don't ask ) Washing theboard in water solved the problem.... The point is that it was the remote that was causing the problem - just wondered if there was anything resting on the keys of another remote that was causing the snag...
