Question Can you use Mem test without a floppy?

Yes yes, I know you can get a floppy drive for under 10 bucks easily but I have no transportation and I dont really care for them. Anyways the whole question is, Can I run a memtest on my computer without putting the file onto the floppy? Is there some sort of way I can directly install it to my bios? If all else fails I DO have an Mp3 player with direct usb attached to it. It holds files obviously so i'm pretty sure that might do a little help.

    Thanks for the input everyone.

I had this problem before, cause I simply can't be arsed with floppies. That and my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive.

I managed to use my USB data stick to do it, so use that if you have one. Or try using your MP3 player.

Yeah, easily mate. Burn it to a cd. Set the CD drive to be first in your boot order and you're sorted. Thats what I do and its easy and quick

No need for all that USB stuff.

Recent version of Knoppix include memtest on the CD and have it avalable as a boot option, So one fairly foolproof way would be to download and burn a knoppix CD, boot from it, and chose memtest from the boot options.

Alternatively, If you have no use for the rest of Knoppix, and you don't know someone who can lend you a CD, the memtest website has an ISO of just memtest you can download.

I got a memtest ISO from somewhere and burnt that image to a cd-rw and it works as a boot cd just fine.
