    hard drive partitioning

hey guys, bit of a problem yet again,

was helping a mate re-install windows earlier, adn there were two HDD's connected, main adn backup, when prompted to delete the partition on the main drive to format and re-install, my mate stupidly deleted the partition on the backup drive and didnt say anythign until we were half way through installing windows on the new drive after deleting the partition on it too,

the device now shows in his my comoputer as being 100% fre unpartitioned space, is there any way to get this data back, as its very important to him

    thanks

Try some data recovery software? There are loads of it about which should work with varying degrees of success.

    http://www.data-recovery-software.ne...oad.shtml#demo

Theres a demo of that software that wont recovery files larger than 64kb but it should at least provide a list of what is recoverable.

PC Pro magazine has a complete free version of the excellent Paragon Partition Manager 2005 on this months cover DVD. I believe that can sort such an error.
