    ram speeds?

    wat is the fastest speed of ram i can run on an asus k8n sli ultra??

    im confused why can most motherborads say they take pc 3200 when manufactueres make it so much quicker???

    Sure that you got that model name right?
    Probably about DDR600/PC4800 i.e. as fast as it is made because you can always run it slower than rated if necessary.

    Motherboard mfrs (& indeed AMD afaik) only guarantee operation at standard speeds the highest of which on AMD is DDR400/PC3200.
    As we know though the platform can run quicker than that & the RAM mfrs make memory able to take advantage of that.

    all im saying is on the mobo im planning to get some asus sli deluxe basically as good as it gets, it sayd ddr up to 400,so do all the other 939 boards i look at so whats thge deal with this ram that is faster what mobosa do they run on and whats the fastest i can run on that asus board?
    and if they cant run these fast modules what boards do.

    wat ram would you reccomend im gunna get a sytems simalr to yours actually with an opteron and such so i want a gig of quick ram??
