    Monitor problems

While using my PC last night the monitor randomly switched itself off (into standby mode - like it is when the PC is switched off) for a few seconds while the actual PC kept working (music kept playing and could be controled with keyboard shortcuts), it then was going on and off every few minutes until it decided to stay off, I left it for the night. Today I tried booting it up again and the screen still stayed in 'standby mode'.

So far I have checked the cable connection (connected fine), totally powered down both PC and monitor and reset the BIOS, and reseated the video card. No luck. Unfortunatly I don't have another monitor or PC here to test with, and also no other cables to use so I can't do much testing. But I was wandering if anyone had any ideas of what's causing it, and how to fix it!
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Only 2 things spring to mind , faulty monitor, faulty video card so can you borrow a monitor and /or video card but it does sound like the synch signal from the video card not being maintained, good luck

Yeah, The PC boots fine and I can logon (I hear the windows logon sound after entering my password), so that leads me to think it's not a video card problem. But it may just be partly knackered. Contacting Hyundai to see what they have to say.
